SASQUATCH PRESENTS “A MIGHTY DREAM” On Sunday, November
20, 2005, a unique event took place in Ottawa. This was the world premier of
“A Mighty Dream,” a video celebrating not only the 25th
anniversary of the Sasquatch Literary Performance Series, but of the oral tradition
in Canada as a bridge between ethnicities, generations, genders, and
sensitivities. An earlier,
incomplete version of the video has already been seen by some Ottawans. But
now the video unfolds in its full splendor, a bouquet of poems honoring the
vitality, the many-facetedness and warm spirit of inclusiveness of the
Canadian literary scene. We believe
DVDs of the video will make excellent Christmas gifts for all who value the
triumphant oral tradition, a tradition that has survived wars, cataclysms,
famines, plagues, massacres, the rise and fall of civilizations, the birth
and death of languages, and which survives today wherever human beings have
the power of speech. Come share “A
Mighty Dream” with us. Orders for DVDs are currently being accepted.
